Sunshine Foundation Inc.New Faces at the Riding Center
Several new faces have arrived at Sunshine to launch our long-anticipated therapeutic horseback riding program. Candy, a 9-year-old Haflinger mare with therapeutic riding experience, joined the barn in mid-October. She was donated to the program by a couple in New York state.

Around the same time, Diane Wollter, certified therapeutic riding instructor, joined the staff at Sunshine to oversee the program’s start-up. Most recently, Josie, a Norwegian Fjord, and her longtime stable mate Snoot, a potbellied pig, joined the riding center along with Princess, a draft horse and Easy Boy, an Appaloosa.

Sunshine Foundation Inc. Sunshine Foundation Overview
Sunshine Foundation, Inc., was established in 1984 to improve the quality of life of the individuals served by Sunshine Inc. of Northwest Ohio. The mission of Sunshine is to enhance the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Sunshine strives to create loving communities by providing residential and related services to more than 900 individuals and their families across Northwest Ohio. Sunshine is guided by the vision of its founders, Roy and Georgette Engler, and values of the Mennonite Faith.

The vast majority of Sunshine, Inc.'s funding comes from state and federal sources. However, these funds do not provide the extras needed by the people we serve. From custom-fitted wheelchairs to clothing to major construction projects, the Foundation and its supporters are there to provide needed programs, projects and personnel.

The Foundation's endowment fund helps ensure that Sunshine's high quality services will continue in an era of uncertain government funding. Private donations of all kinds are critically important to Sunshine's future.
