In an era of uncertain government funding, the Foundation helps make certain that the quality of life of the people we serve is never compromised. For example, Medicaid allots nothing for our residents’ clothing needs. While many families make up the difference between what Medicaid pays and what their loved one needs, some residents do not have that family support. That’s when the Sunshine Foundation, Inc. steps in to purchase shoes or pajamas or a new outfit. The Foundation has also spearheaded major capital campaigns such as the current Sunshine Hope Campaign to fund our new Sunshine Day Habilitation Center that provides quality day programming and vocational services to people with significant disabilities. The Foundation purchases adaptive equipment and pays for residents to take a yearly vacation among many other projects. In short, the Sunshine Foundation, Inc. makes life better for people in Northwest Ohio with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. You can help!
